Hi, I have this device and I have a question if you can log in remotely and update the firmware or send me to do it. The device does not start up when the power key is pressed. If you can log in, I will give you the ip and set up the device with the possibility of logging in.
maybe modem port not correct it is /dev/ttyS1.
Hi, I have this device (UVIAJ) , just received from eBay purchase, but the wifi password is always rejected : SSID is OSTAR-0DC0 and password should be : ostar@0dc0 (ostar@ and 4 last digit from ap name ). That is NOT working , password look to be something else.
I was ordered for a PI-STAR model, but received OSTAR instead. The device is useless , I already tried many times to restard to default by pushing the WPS for more than 8 sec without success. Is it possible to change from Ostar to Pistar?

Pistar is raspberry with tf card,current is Router chip with ROM.

abandon now,you can build just use MT7688 16M/32M wifi module,work with 3.3v and uart1
hello,you just buy a MT7688 dev board to run it ,MMDVM connect ttyS1 or S2
I had purchased UV-IAJ MMDVM from AliExpress.
It does work fine but the four rows CPU TEMP, CYCLES, LOAD, DISK_FREE on my MMDVM are always blank.
Some other MMDVM such as RFinder shows those values, not blank.
Is is possible for UV-IAJ MMDVM to show those values as same as the other MMDVM such as RFinder?
Is it a correct way for modifying /etc/MMDVM.ini by using MMDVMHost menu on the OSTAR admin page?
Would you be so kind to give me a hint for modification?

I cannot flash the widora-neo(16) at all. Flashing stops at 50-70%.
I also cannot use wget to download the sysupgrade bin file. Is it possible to use the 2nd serial port on the pcb ?

My problem is that the ssid of the device is MMDVM-4G and no info about the root password. I have probed 12345678, OSTAR@, Open1234, blank and imposible to login into the setup web.

Try mmdvm0000 as the password. That worked for me. 0000 are all zeros.

Hello, I have installed firmware on gl-mt300n-v2 which is work well. The problem is when I connect the modem (with ch340 serial) to usb port, it doesn't recognize the device. However when connect it with usb hub, it shows up as /dev/ttyUSB0 and everything works well. I couldn't figure it out what is wrong, Please help me. Thank you
yes,the OSTAR support your glmt300n,the ch340x usb to serial on openwrt is ttyS0,so you need change the configure file http://ostar/cgi-bin/luci/admin/mmdvm/advanced

the DMRID Userdatabase is too big for OSTAR,you can copy it from winscp on /etc/mmdvm/dmrids.dat then change it yourself,according the current format.

Hi, I have a ostar mmdvm hotspot puchase from Aliexpress. When I've put all my details on and gone int YSF mode the start up reflector needs updating as I wont it to connect to 44222 YSF GB NWFG 2

I am trying to SSH into my new OSTAR to change the IP address as it conflicts with my LAN router on 192.168.10.1 but using the OSTAR-xxxx user and OSTAR@xxxx password will not allow me to login with ssh thru PUTTY. What is the ssh password if it is not the same as the admin user/password?
plan to use /etc/config/network replace "192.168.10.1" with "192.168.2." to reset OSTAR IP address.

Hi,Because OSTAR is a simplified system,it need MMDVMGateway to work FreeDMR

hello and best wishes.... this is now 2024 and this is working... you need to make the edit in the mmdvm ini for the server to connect to.. some server have changed... also on the Bm server in self care you need to set a password there for the hotspot even if you have and account with a password... the device consumes about 10ma additional for transmission... the device with display consumes about 150ma by far the lowest chip of many many versions of hotspot... seems also some items in the gui do not stick.. so enter them in the advanced menu screen... dmr working ok.. another small issue was frequency work on 434.500 but when change this frequency had poor results.. this is old mmdvm program and idea but still very good item... would like to see someone give this a new breath of life with a fiew updates.. people would appreciate it...
